Why Your Mantle Bridge Transfer Is Stuck
A Mantle transfer can wait at wallet approval, source-chain confirmation, message processing or the final withdrawal claim; its status tells you what to do next.

A Mantle Bridge transfer can look stuck because it moves through several steps, and a confirmed transaction on one chain does not always mean the funds have arrived on the other. First, your wallet signs a transaction on the source network. The bridge processes that transaction and sends a message to the destination network, where the asset is credited. A withdrawal also requires a separate claim once it is ready.
What happens during a Mantle Bridge transfer?
For a deposit, the wallet submits the transaction on Ethereum. If the token needs approval, that is a separate transaction; approval gives the bridge permission to use the token but does not send it. After you confirm the deposit, the source transaction must be included on Ethereum before the bridge can process the transfer to Mantle.
For a withdrawal, you submit a transaction on Mantle first. The bridge then processes the withdrawal before it becomes ready to claim on Ethereum. A developer’s comparison of three Mantle Bridge routes explains how different routes handle that cross-chain step. The useful distinction is that each stage has its own status; one completed transaction does not prove the whole transfer is complete.
How can I find where the transfer is waiting?
Open the bridge history and check the transaction hash on the explorer for the network where you started. Look for whether the transaction is pending, failed or confirmed. Then check the destination address and network. A successful approval followed by no deposit transaction means the transfer was never submitted; a confirmed source transaction with no destination credit points to bridge processing or a mismatch in the destination details.
- Wallet still asks you to sign: the transaction has not been submitted. Check the selected network and the details before confirming.
- Source transaction is pending: it has not yet been included on that chain. Check its status there before taking another action.
- Source transaction failed: read the explorer’s failure details. The funds usually remain in the source wallet if the transaction reverted, though gas may still have been spent.
- Source transaction confirmed, destination balance missing: verify the receiving address, switch to Mantle, and check whether the destination token needs to be added to your wallet.
Why is a withdrawal waiting for a claim?
A withdrawal does not arrive on Ethereum as soon as its Mantle transaction confirms. The bridge must process the withdrawal and mark it ready; then you need to submit the claim on Ethereum. Check the withdrawal’s status in bridge history and return to the same wallet when the claim is available. Keep ETH in that wallet for the Ethereum transaction fee. MNT pays gas for transactions on Mantle, but it cannot pay for an Ethereum claim.
Use the transaction status to choose the next step: finish an unsigned action, investigate a failed source transaction, wait while a confirmed transfer is processed, or submit the claim when a withdrawal is ready. Don’t start a duplicate transfer just because the destination balance has not appeared yet.
